Maintenance Lead Person, Garage, AM - Sarasota

• performing a number of functions in the operation of the maintenance department, this includes
  • assisting in the planning, scheduling, and execution of assignments
  • following up on scheduled assignments and completions
  • identifying and resolving problems and
  • responding to unplanned situations
• performing a number of functions on a variety of equipment according to company policy; federal, state, and local regulations; repair manuals; factory specifications; blueprints; schematics; and their own knowledge of the equipment and
• teaching and assisting other associates

Required Qualifications

• be at least 20 years old
• have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before their start date in the position)
• have 2 years fleet maintenance experience
• be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
• be able to read, write, and solve math problems
• be able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions
• be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• successfully complete the following tests (before their start date in the position)
  • Basic Office Skills
  • Following Written Instructions
  • Spatial Reasoning
  • Mechanical Reasoning
• have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of equipment  
• be able to work independently with little or no supervision 
• be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system 
• be able to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties
• must have the ability to work well with others and be a team member
• must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and
• must show commitment to Publix’s mission.

Rotating Days 7:30am - 4:00pm

Other Compensation Information

• Weekend differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
