Regions

Florida jobs by region

Florida is several job markets, not one. These twelve regions run north to south, and each page says what the region’s economy is built on, which employers on this board hire there, what the postings pay and which cities carry most of them. Postings that are remote or name no city are listed under statewide and remote.

Panhandle322

The Panhandle runs from Pensacola east to Panama City and the Forgotten Coast, across Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay and the smaller inland counties. It is the part of Florida closest to Alabama in time zone and in temperament.
Big Bend88

The Big Bend is Tallahassee and the counties around it, from Gadsden and Leon down to the Gulf at Wakulla and Franklin. It is the state capital region, and it feels more like the Deep South than the peninsula does.
First Coast495

The First Coast is Jacksonville and the counties around it: Duval, Nassau, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler, from Amelia Island down to Palm Coast. Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States and the largest by population in Florida.
North Central368

North Central Florida is Gainesville and Ocala and the rural counties around them, from Lake City down to The Villages and the Nature Coast at Cedar Key.

The Keys16

The Keys are Monroe County, the island chain from Key Largo to Key West.
Statewide & remote422

This is the bucket for postings that do not sit in one Florida region: remote roles open to people based in Florida, and postings whose employer names the state but not a city.

Cities with their own page

A city gets a page once it has enough open postings to say something about; smaller cities are listed on their region’s page.
