Supervisor TCC IIT Biorepository Operations
Position Summary
The Supervisor TCC IIT Biorepository Operations (TC - TCC) is responsible for the overall day-to-day supervision, leading and guiding all areas ensuring each area of service is working as a team. In collaboration with the Tissue Core management team, the supervisor takes active leadership in identifying future directions and needs of the section, goals, priority setting and implementation of best practices to deliver:
· high quality biospecimen screening, collection, processing, dissemination, automated equipment inclusion, and storage
· data annotation in accordance with institutional guidelines and federal and state regulatory agencies
· adherence to the facility's Quality Management Plan
The position is responsible for hiring, supervising, training, mentoring, scheduling, and evaluating assigned personnel. Actively participates in the financial management of the section, including billing.
The role develops expansion laboratories at satellite locations for section by working with Moffitt service departments and external consultants on design, construction, workflow, space, and equipment needs.
The Supervisor TCC IIT Biorepository Operations designs and develops new and existing workflows, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support emerging technologies and research areas requiring biospecimens.
Position Highlights
· Responsible for leading day-to-day activities of the TC-TCC section.
· Develops and implements Tissue Core TCC & IIT study SOPs and documents to ensure study aims are met through biospecimen needs and services provided by assigned cost center(s).
· Responsible for supervising, mentoring, and directing assigned personnel related to supporting Tissue Core TCC & IIT operations.
· Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and supervises assigned staff to accomplish the activities related to Tissue Core TCC & IIT operations.
· Provides daily oversight of day-to-day financial management of assigned cost center(s).
· Responsible for implementation, supervision, and monitoring of Tissue Core Biorepository quality management plan related to biospecimens pertaining to assigned cost center(s).
· Possesses full knowledge of all techniques in the laboratory including the underlying science occurring at each step of the protocol.
· Designs, develops, implements, and monitors new and existing SOPs in response to emerging technologies and research to ensure adequate and high quality biospecimens are available for investigators.
· Develops expansion laboratories at satellite locations for section by working with Moffitt service departments and external consultants and Tissue Core management on design, construction, workflow, space, and equipment needs.
Credentials and Qualifications
· Master's Degree in Science related field of study with 5 years' technical experience inclusive of 2 years as a project team lead is required OR in lieu of technical experience, a minimum 10 years' experience in a biologic science related field
· Experience in customer service-oriented laboratory/facility is required.
· Knowledge of the terminology, principles, and techniques used in biologic research, analysis, and testing.
· Technical expertise in blood fractionation is a must.
Preferred Education
Ph.D. Field of Study: Science or Public Health related field of study or Management graduate degree with a minimum of 3 years' biorepository related experience.
· Research experience.
· Experience in biorepository quality management.
· CAP biorepository inspector certification would be a plus.
Preferred Licensure/Certification and Specialized Training
· HT or HTL
· IATA Certification which could be obtained within one year of hire.
· CAP biorepository inspector certification would be a plus and obtainable within 1 year of hire.
· Competencies include robust understanding of CAP biorepository standards and inspection practices.

Salary Range
$77,022.40 - $117,582.40
Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
