Job Description

• Location: AdventHealth Outpatient Winter Garden (2200 Fowler Grove Blvd, suite 120, Winter Garden, FL, 34787)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday during pharmacy business hours, shifts may vary between 8am and 6pm to accommodate business needs and fair scheduling among team members
• Delivers medications to patients with urgency and accuracy. 
• Processes customer transactions quickly and accurately, understanding all procedures concerning cash register and computer systems.
• Handles sales transactions, including credit cards, checks, payroll deductions, discount sales, split pays, exchanges, and refunds.
• Runs daily and monthly reports and verifies employee charges at scheduled periods.
• Verifies that prescriptions contain all necessary information before giving them to the data entry technician for processing.
• Records refill requests, ensuring all needed information is obtained.
• Promotes merchandise through suggestive selling and keeps the front end clean and organized, including unpacking, pricing, and stocking shelves.
• Obtains required patient demographic and prescription insurance information for processing and asks appropriate questions regarding pharmacy counseling.
• Follows a systematic approach for assisting with the flow of prescriptions through the pharmacy and obtains HIPAA waivers if not on file.
• Communicates with patients about the status of their prescriptions and answers phone calls to determine the nature of requests.
• Greets incoming customers immediately upon entering the store and addresses them by name when possible.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Previous experience operating cash registers or pharmacy POS [Required]
• Ability to work under pressure [Required]
• Ability to interact professionally with the public [Required]
• Excellent oral communication skills [Preferred]
• Some knowledge of medical terminology [Preferred]
• Excellent customer service skills [Preferred]
• Previous pharmacy work experience preferred [Preferred]
• Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese (Preferred)

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience

• Previous experience as a cashier or pharmacy clerk [Required]

Pay Range

$15.30 - $22.95
