Summary
About the Opportunity
Turn complex biomedical data into discoveries that can shape the future of cancer care. As a postdoctoral fellow in Moffitt’s Department of Translational Pathology, under the mentorship of Dr. Marina Ayad, you will join an interdisciplinary team of machine learning scientists, bioinformaticians, pathologists, and oncologists to develop innovative AI methods using large cohorts of scanned tissue slides and spatial omics data.
You will work in a highly collaborative environment that connects clinicians caring for patients with researchers developing new and better treatments. With pathologists, biologists, and computational scientists working side by side—and digital pathology being implemented across Moffitt’s clinical operations—you will have the opportunity to help translate advanced AI tools from research into clinical practice.
Position Highlights:
• Join an interdisciplinary environment that brings together computational science, pathology, oncology, and bioinformatics.
• Work with an institutional repository linking digital pathology images with diagnostic and clinical data.
• Use a dedicated computing cluster and a platform for image viewing, annotation, and data management.
• Contribute to translational research supported by Moffitt’s on-site cancer hospital and integrated research environment.
Postdoctoral Training and Career Development:
In addition to world-class training and mentorship, postdoctoral fellows at Moffitt have access to internal funding and career development programs, including research awards, pilot funding opportunities, and the competitive Research Instructor program, which supports the transition to research independence through protected time, mentorship, and faculty development resources.
